To be honest, originally, I was apprehensive about conducting sessions virtually myself. I heard many of my colleagues talk about it before the pandemic and the comments were not favorable. Its authenticity was called into question as people thought it would not create an environment for clients to truly open up. However, I have found that this has not been the case. I became very comfortable talking with my clients through the screen and as a trauma therapist, I have been able to engage clients in deep, heart-wrenching conversations. I believe that if the words and discussion are right, then therapy can be conducive in many environments. I might not be able to see the tension in your hands, but I can see it in your face and hear it in your voice. That close attention to detail is what makes a difference.
