Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I became a clinician because I’ve always held a deep desire to help others live fulfilling lives, no matter the obstacles they face. Early in my career, I worked in child welfare, where I witnessed both the profound trauma children endured and the challenges parents faced in showing up for their families. Those experiences opened my eyes to the importance of healing, compassion, and support—not just for individuals, but for entire systems and communities. What continues to motivate me is seeing the resilience in people and being a part of their journey toward hope, growth, and restoration. Each time a client takes a step toward healing, it reaffirms why I chose this path and inspires me to keep showing up with empathy and dedication.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

I’d remind anyone who’s hesitant that therapy isn’t about being “broken” or having all the answers—it’s about having a safe space to be heard, understood, and supported without judgment. Healing isn't a destination we arrive at but a journey we take through life. Therapy is a partnership—you don’t have to go through life’s challenges alone, and you set the pace. Even if you’re unsure, just showing up is a powerful act of courage, and it can open the door to healing, growth, and new possibilities.

How do you work with clients with women's issues?

When working with clients experiencing women’s issues—such as identity shifts, motherhood, career pressures, relationships, trauma, or societal expectations—I take a holistic and supportive approach. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can openly share their experiences, explore the impact of gender roles and cultural pressures, and reconnect with their strengths. I integrate evidence-based approaches like CBT, ACT, and interpersonal psychotherapy to address emotional challenges, while also focusing on self-compassion, empowerment, and boundary-setting. My goal is to help women not only process what they’ve been through, but also build the confidence and tools to live authentically and create balance in their lives.
