Hi! I am a Masters-Level Mental Health Counselor and I have been in the mental health field since 2020. Before working in outpatient, I specialized in eating disorders in a clinic setting. I have also became familiar with PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, and personality disorders. My treatment model is centered around CBT, DBT, and REBT. This means that I focus on the interaction of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and place emphasis on irrational thought processes.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I initially went to nursing school and when I started my clinical, I realized my favorite part of the job was talking to the patients and learning who they were outside of the hospital. It became clear to me that I belonged in a field where I could do this all the time. I am motivated to continue in this field because I genuinely feel I can make a difference by giving people a space to converse, connect, and heal.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
You don't know until you try and there's no "right" way to do therapy. You may not know what to say or how much to say at first and that's OK. Just starting the process can be extremely liberating.
What does therapy with you look like?
Therapy with me is going to bring out the irony and humor in situations in a way that is not damaging to the therapeutic process. In other words, I use sarcasm and I'm always my genuine self. My goal is to create a space where people can take a deep breath and relax without me needing to guide them to do so.
How can you provide care remotely?
Yes! Telehealth is an option. It can be harder to form the connection through a screen but with the right approach and attitude from everyone involved, it can be a convenient game changer.
