For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
I will take therapy at your pace and follow your lead. I tell all of my clients, “you have the gas pedal and you have the brake.” For my perfectionists out there, and remember, there is no right or wrong way to “do” therapy. Showing up, consistently, for yourself and growing reflection can be so impactful. I am here to guide you along the process.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
I think it’s so important to be ourselves in session. I build a safe space built on trust for you to be yourself, and also find it important for me to be genuine. To me, this looks like using humor when appropriate, cussing if clients are comfortable, and always leading with compassion. If you are looking for a therapist who breaks the therapist stereotype of being cold and neutral and only saying “but how does that make you feel” then schedule your free consultation today!
What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
In our first session together, I will begin with some small talk and then going into the logistical things such as confidentiality, cancellation policies, etc. Then, I will ask you questions about you: Your hobbies, your likes, your significant relationships, your coping skills. I usually end the first session by discussing goals this way we know what we’re working towards.
The second session is predominately about your family of origin, this way I can get a better understanding of relationships that have shaped you.
From there each session is different. I take a collaborative approach, where I see if there’s anything you want to revisit from our previous session or anything new that you’d like to work through. I always take sessions at the clients pace and comfort. Sessions last 45-50mins and I try to end session with some chit chat again, whether it be weekend plans or something else upcoming.

What's your experience with relationship counseling?
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I was trained to think systemically. This means that I see all “problems” as occurring within the relationship dynamics in your life. In couples therapy, I work to build safety, foster compassion, and start to growing understanding. Through our work I will help you decrease the cycle of blame and defensiveness and replace it with compassion and a softness. I will help you reconnect with your loved ones. Building healthy relationships has been an important part of my work, if you have any questions or this sounds like something you are wanting, please reach out!
What's your experience working with issues in sex and sexuality?
Part of my education was a concentration in Sex Therapy. Through these classes I grew my love for talking about and exploring sex. In our work together, I will work to build a safe space to explore messages you received about sex, sex education you did (or didn’t get), as well as other topics. I will work to create a judgement free zone, built on trust, where I guide you through talking about sex comfortably.
