Approaches · Motivational Interviewing

How does motivational interviewing work, and what do sessions look like?

Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative approach that helps you explore your own reasons for making changes without judgment or pressure. We’ll talk about your goals, identify what may be getting in the way, and work through any mixed feelings you may have about change. The goal is to help you build confidence, recognize your strengths, and identify steps that feel realistic and meaningful to you. Sessions are conversational and person-centered, with the focus on where you are and what you hope to accomplish. Together, we’ll explore your concerns, clarify your goals, and develop practical strategies that support progress at your own pace.
Specialties · Personality Disorders

What's your approach to personality disorders, and what does progress look like for clients?

I take a person-centered and compassionate approach to working with personality disorders, recognizing that every individual has their own experiences, strengths, and challenges. Depending on your needs and goals, I may incorporate approaches such as CBT and DBT to help you better understand emotional patterns, thoughts, behaviors, and relationships while developing practical coping skills. Progress is not about changing who you are. It may look like developing greater emotional awareness, improving relationships, managing difficult emotions more effectively, strengthening coping skills, and responding to challenges with greater intention. We’ll work together to identify meaningful goals and recognize progress along the way.
