About Maralee

I have always known that my calling was to help others. I have spent my life learning and growing in my profession to be able to reach all those who need help with an open and supportive heart. I believe all people who suffer are capable of being helped and deserve to live happy and fulfilling lives. In my practice, I focus on strengths and assist people to enhance their shortcomings. Through our work together my clients increase their ability to trust, create and maintain healthy relationships, become confident and hopeful for the future. I specialize in child abuse, domestic violence, trauma, depression, and anxiety. I am skilled in working with adults and teenagers and have many years of professional experience with the child welfare system and family conflict. I use trauma informed and strength-based practice. I accept Medi-Cal, Blue-Cross Medi-Cal as well as California Health and Wellness and MHN| Health Net. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I became a therapist because it was a natural fit with who I am as a heart lead and helpful person who wants to help those who need it. What motivates me to continue is the progress I see daily in the people who have entrusted their treatment to me. I am never amazed by what someone who wants to change their life can do, but it is a beautiful thing to witness.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

I would tell them to try it out. You are in the driver's seat. If you start services and they are not a fit, try someone else. I would suggest that they try three sessions and if they don't feel a match then move on. Therapy is yours and should fit you.

Why is trauma processing important?

I believe that without the ability to continually process our life traumas we are hindered and controlled by old thoughts, patterns and feelings. Trauma creates many responses in the individual, some of which are very positive. We use both sides of these events to work through how the individual will change some parts and accept and work with others.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

I am dedicated to those I work with and will go above and beyond to get them the help they feel they need. I am courteous of their time and mine and try to be as punctual as possible. I am a firm believer in the client is boss when it comes to what they want to work on in session. I am compassionate, warm-hearted and truly desire to help my clients live happier/healthier lives with a positive and hopeful outlook for their future.
