How does cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) work and how can it help?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) works by identifying negative thought patterns and behaviors, and replacing them with healthier ones. It helps clients develop practical skills to manage stress, challenge distorted thinking, and improve emotional regulation. CBT can be highly effective in treating conditions like anxiety, depression, and PTSD, promoting lasting change and enhancing overall well-being.
Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist because I’m passionate about helping people transform their lives, find healing, and achieve their fullest potential. What motivates me to continue is witnessing the positive changes in my clients and knowing I’m making a difference.
How does dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) work and how can it help?
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) works by teaching clients skills to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and tolerate distress. It combines mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness strategies. DBT can help clients build resilience, reduce impulsivity, and develop healthier coping mechanisms, especially for conditions like borderline personality disorder, depression, and anxiety.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
I wish I could tell them that seeking therapy is a brave first step towards understanding themselves better, gaining support, and finding solutions to their challenges. It’s about building a positive, transformative journey together.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
They should know that I am dedicated, compassionate, and committed to helping them achieve positive change. My approach is personalized, evidence-based, and focused on building resilience, improving well-being, and fostering a deeper self-understanding.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Therapy sessions with me are collaborative and supportive. We focus on understanding your concerns, developing coping strategies, and setting achievable goals. Each session is tailored to your unique needs, ensuring a safe and empowering space for growth and healing.
How do you work with clients with ADHD?
I work with clients with ADHD by focusing on building structure, developing coping strategies, and enhancing self-awareness. Together, we address organizational skills, time management, and emotional regulation to improve focus, reduce distractions, and support overall well-being.
How do you work with clients on anger management?
I work with clients on anger management by helping them identify triggers, understand underlying emotions, and develop healthy coping strategies. We work together to improve communication skills, manage stress, and create personalized strategies to respond to anger in a constructive and adaptive way.
How do you work with clients with depression?
I work with clients with depression by focusing on building effective coping strategies, enhancing self-awareness, and developing personalized treatment plans. We explore underlying issues, set achievable goals, and use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help manage symptoms and foster long-term well-being.
How can you provide care remotely?
I provide remote care through secure online platforms, offering therapy sessions via video calls. This allows clients to access support conveniently from the comfort of their own space, while still maintaining the privacy, connection, and therapeutic quality of in-person sessions.
