About Marylynn
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in GA whose telehealth practice offers a nonjudgmental and safe environment for anyone who is seeking insight, interactive feedback, or growth on their journey. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, phobias, OCD, and life transitions and grief. I strive to support you on your journey by the use of cognitive techniques, mindfulness, and healthy coping strategies.
I prefer to work along with my client collaboratively to have a strong therapeutic alliance and a safe space for you to feel comfortable in. I approach therapy through an integrative lens and tailoring treatment to each individual client. My work is grounded in cognitive behavioral, person-centered, and exposure and response prevention theories. I specialize in working with adults.
Please reach out and I would love to help guide you in making positive changes in your life.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I have always enjoyed helping others and being an encouragement to others during challenging times. It is something I always wanted to do since I was a young girl. I enjoy the dyad of art and science of therapy. It is part science and part art form. Every client is unique and each session is different. Therapy is built off of relationship building, building trust, creating a safe space, leaning into the uncomfortable-it is really rewarding to help others along that process and it keeps me in check to practice my own grounding and mindfulness skills.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
Seeking therapy for the first time or trying therapy again after a not so successful attempt can be scary and difficult. It is understandable to be cautious of trying therapy. Ultimately, it is YOUR time and a safe place for YOU to be yourself and work with me on living your best life. Coming to see me does not mean you have to have "crazy" issues to attend or that it must be forever. Therapy is in your pace. We can work slowly towards goals if that feels safer.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
Just know that you will not receive any judgement or shame messages from me. I think it is important to note that I really love my work as a therapist! I hold all of my clients in my heart and take pride in their successes as they change or thrive. Endings with clients are sad for me too, since I no longer have the opportunity to see their changes and growth.
What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
I believe in a client-centered approach to therapy. I believe you know what is the most pressing to start with and we go from there. I offer a safe space for clients to discuss any topic in sessions, including any homework we might be working on and progress that has been made.
Each session I like to know how the past week has been and then we end with a plan to implement moving forward.
How can you provide care remotely?
All sessions are through secure HIPPA compliant video or telephone teleconferencing. Teletherapy is a great option for those who may have very busy schedules, those without transportation, or live in a rural area. I have found that teletherapy allows for more flexibility in clients being able to schedule and keep appointment times.
