At TellMel Mental Health, we understand that anxiety, depression, stress, focus difficulties, and overwhelming emotions can make everyday life feel much harder than it should. Many of our clients are doing everything they can to manage responsibilities at work, school, home, or in relationships, yet still find themselves feeling stuck, exhausted, or disconnected from the life they want. Our approach starts by meeting you where you are, understanding your unique experiences, and creating a personalized treatment plan that may include therapy, medication management, or both. Together, we focus on helping you build practical skills, improve emotional well-being, and move toward a more balanced, fulfilling life.

How does dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) work and how can it help?
When working with clients experiencing OCD, we focus on understanding how obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors are affecting daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. Treatment typically includes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), particularly Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which helps clients gradually face feared situations while reducing compulsive responses. We also explore the anxiety, uncertainty, and emotional distress that often accompany OCD and, when appropriate, discuss medication options that may help reduce symptoms. Our goal is to help clients gain confidence, break free from OCD-driven patterns, and regain a greater sense of control over their lives.
How do you work with clients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based approach that helps individuals better manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and cope with stress in healthier ways. DBT focuses on four core skill areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Through these skills, clients learn how to stay present during difficult moments, navigate emotional challenges without becoming overwhelmed, communicate more effectively, and respond to life's stressors with greater balance and confidence. DBT can be especially helpful for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional reactivity, self-destructive behaviors, relationship difficulties, or feeling overwhelmed by their emotions.
