How do you work with clients with depression?
When working with people who have depression, first we have to identify what type of depression it is. It can possibly be situational or chronic depression. I then start to access the needs of the client. I usually provide tons of coping skills for depression and allow for the client to choose what is going to work for them. I encouraged them to implement and practice the coping mechanisms to see if it reduces their depressive symptoms. If not, we explore other options.

You deserved this chance to practice self-care. People who are hesitant always feel a sense of relief when they are able to discuss what they are going through. Healing is possible through therapy. Nothing beats a failure then a tryer. Please step out on faith and take care of your mental health. It's important not to "suffer in silence".
