About Mia
I am dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as you navigate life's challenges. I believe deeply in the power of collaboration, working alongside you to identify meaningful goals and create lasting, positive changes. I am also an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. I use a person centered approach to counseling as well as, integrating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused techniques, and The Gottman Method for couples therapy.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Therapy sessions with me are warm, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where you can speak openly, feel heard, and explore whatever challenges are most present for you. Early sessions often focus on getting to know your story, understanding your goals, and identifying the patterns or stressors that may be affecting your well-being. As we continue working together, sessions may include processing emotions, exploring relationships, learning practical coping skills, and building strategies to help you move through challenges with greater confidence. I use a person-centered approach while integrating evidence-based methods like CBT, solution-focused techniques, and, when appropriate, The Gottman Method for couples work. My goal is for each session to feel supportive, meaningful, and focused on helping you create positive and lasting change.
How do you work with clients with anxiety?
I work with clients with anxiety by creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they can feel safe exploring what they are experiencing. Together, we identify the thoughts, triggers, and patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, while also building practical tools to manage overwhelming emotions in daily life. Using a person-centered approach, I meet each client where they are and tailor treatment to their unique needs and goals. I also integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, solution-focused techniques to build on strengths and create achievable steps forward, and calming strategies to improve emotional regulation. My goal is to help clients feel more understood, confident, and empowered as they develop healthier ways to cope with anxiety and move toward lasting change.
