Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
To help people. I've always wanted to help people who may be struggling with life events ever since I worked as a law enforcement officer. I switched from protecting people to healing people mentally.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
If you feel something needs to change, give therapy a try. Honestly, I never knew how much therapy could help until I was a client for the first time. It's a relationship and it can be beneficial.

What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
The first session is structured because it is a diagnostic evaluation used to determine a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. After that, I like to have clients "set the agenda," which is a CBT term for letting me know what they would like to address. We work together as a team to achieve goals.
