How do you work with clients with trauma and PTSD?
When working with clients experiencing trauma and PTSD, I focus on creating a safe, supportive, and emotionally grounded space where healing can happen at a pace that feels manageable. We begin by understanding how trauma is affecting daily life, including mood, sleep, relationships, anxiety, hypervigilance, or emotional overwhelm. I help clients build coping tools to improve stability and reduce distress while also exploring treatment options that support long-term recovery. For some clients, that may include medication management as part of a broader care plan. My goal is to help clients feel more secure, regain a sense of control, and move forward with greater confidence and emotional balance.
How do you work with clients on anger management?
When working with clients on anger management, I help them understand that anger is often a signal connected to deeper emotions, unmet needs, stress, trauma, or frustration. Together, we identify triggers, patterns, and the situations that make anger harder to manage. We then focus on practical strategies to improve emotional regulation, communication, impulse control, and self-awareness. I work collaboratively with clients to help them pause before reacting, express themselves more effectively, and develop healthier ways of coping with difficult emotions. The goal is not to suppress anger, but to understand it and respond to it in a more constructive and empowering way.
