Sometimes you know something needs to change, but figuring out what to do next is the difficult part. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting counseling. I am a graduate level counselor intern providing counseling services under supervision. I work primarily with adults and adolescents who are navigating challenges such as stress, anxiety, difficult emotions, relationship concerns, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck. My approach is practical and action focused. I primarily draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and action-oriented brief therapy while incorporating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Adlerian counseling. While understanding your experiences and identifying patterns is important, I also believe counseling should help you determine what to do with what you discover. Small changes today can lead to significant progress tomorrow.
