How does cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) work and how can it help?
CBT works by helping clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Often, patterns of negative thinking can keep people feeling stuck in anxiety, depression, stress, or self-doubt. In therapy, we identify those unhelpful thought patterns, challenge them, and replace them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. CBT can help you develop practical coping tools, improve emotional regulation, and feel more confident handling everyday challenges. It is a very active, goal-oriented approach that helps create real change both inside and outside of sessions.
How do you work with clients on anger management?
When working with clients on anger management, I focus on helping them understand what is underneath the anger, because anger is often connected to stress, hurt, frustration, fear, or feeling unheard. Together, we look at triggers, patterns, and the thoughts that fuel emotional reactions. I provide a supportive, judgment-free space where clients can be honest about their experiences while learning healthier ways to pause, communicate, and respond. The goal is not to suppress anger, but to manage it more effectively, build self-awareness, and develop practical coping skills that improve relationships and daily life.
