About Rodesia

Hello, I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a nursing career built on years of hands-on patient care and a deep commitment to serving my community. My healthcare journey began in high school as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and over time I earned my nursing degree in 2017 before completing my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in 2020. Along the way, I've cared for patients in hospital settings, home care, and as a travel nurse throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Since becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I've worked in both private practice and community mental health, where I've had the privilege of supporting individuals with a wide range of mental health needs. These diverse experiences have shaped my compassionate, practical approach to care and my commitment to helping each person feel heard, supported, and empowered on their path to wellness.

Specialties · Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD)
What's your approach to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and what does progress look like for clients?

Treating OCD begins with understanding how intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors are affecting your daily life. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where we can openly discuss your symptoms and develop a personalized treatment plan. This may include evidence-based medication management, education about OCD, and collaboration with therapists who provide Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard psychotherapy for OCD. Throughout treatment, I encourage shared decision-making so you feel informed and confident in your care. Progress with OCD is often gradual but meaningful. Many clients experience less anxiety around intrusive thoughts, feel less driven to perform compulsions, and regain the ability to participate more fully in work, school, relationships, and everyday activities. My goal is to help you reduce the impact OCD has on your life so you can spend more time focusing on what matters most to you.

Specialties · Borderline Personality (BPD)
What's your approach to borderline personality disorder (BPD), and what does progress look like for clients?

I approach borderline personality disorder with compassion, patience, and the understanding that meaningful change is possible with the right support. I take time to understand your experiences, emotional patterns, and relationships while working collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that fits your unique needs. My role includes thoughtful medication management when appropriate, education about BPD, and coordination with psychotherapy—particularly therapies such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which has strong evidence for helping people build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier relationships. Progress isn't about becoming a different person—it's about feeling more in control of your emotions and reactions. Over time, many clients notice fewer emotional crises, more stable relationships, increased confidence in managing stress, and a greater ability to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. My goal is to provide consistent, supportive care that helps you build a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling, and aligned with your values.
