About Rubi
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been in the social work field since 2015, providing therapy since 2020. Throughout my career, I’ve supported individuals and families navigating mental health crises, systemic injustice, and the legal system. My current work is especially grounded in supporting adolescents and young adults navigating trauma, identity exploration, and life transitions.
Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I’m passionate about making mental health care accessible and affirming for those who’ve often been overlooked or underserved, particularly LGBTQ+ folks, people from low-income backgrounds, and communities of color.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
I value social justice, both in my role as a therapist, as well as outside of the office. I view clients through an intersectional lens, considering their personal mental health experiences alongside the influence of their environment, identities, and the social systems around them. I believe therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and non-pathologizing. At the core of my work is a commitment to building strong, respectful relationships. I care deeply about creating a space where you can show up fully, without judgement.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
I work best with folks who value authenticity, humor, and a collaborative approach. Once we’ve built trust, I’m not afraid to gently challenge you, and I’ll always make sure we’re on the same page. My goal is to help you push forward when life pushes back.
