About Samantha

I’m a queer, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who provides a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space for teens and adults to explore what they’re experiencing and move toward meaningful change. I work with clients navigating trauma and complex trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and questions around identity and personal growth. My goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered as you develop a deeper understanding of yourself.

Approaches · Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

How does dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) work, and what do sessions look like?

DBT is a practical, skills-based approach that can help you better understand and manage difficult emotions, navigate relationships, and respond to stressful situations in healthier ways. In sessions, we may explore patterns that are contributing to distress while building skills related to mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I tailor DBT to your individual needs and combine it with other approaches when helpful, creating a supportive space where you can develop tools that feel realistic and useful in your everyday life.
Specialties · Transgender

What's your approach to working with transgender individuals, and what does progress look like for clients?

I provide affirming, respectful, and nonjudgmental support for transgender and gender-diverse clients. I recognize that each person's experience with gender and identity is unique, and I offer a space where you can explore identity, navigate transitions or changes, and process the emotional challenges that may arise without having to justify or defend who you are. Progress can look different for everyone—it may involve feeling more comfortable in your identity, developing greater self-acceptance, strengthening confidence and boundaries, processing difficult experiences, or simply feeling more connected to yourself and your life.
