Hello! My name is Samira!
I’m a therapist who believes in creating a safe, understanding space where adults can explore what’s holding them back and discover practical ways forward. I value honesty, fairness, and connection, and I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and a touch of humor. My goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life—even when the work gets challenging, or we have to laugh at ourselves along the way. I am licensed in the states of Texas and Washington D.C.
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know you and what’s bringing you to therapy right now. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your goals, challenges, and what’s been working—or not working—for you. Together, we’ll start identifying clear, realistic steps toward the changes you want to see. We’ll also talk about how therapy works—things like confidentiality, boundaries, scheduling, and what you can expect from me (and what I’ll expect from you) as we move forward. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about a clear plan for growth.
I work best with adults 18 and over who are ready to make meaningful changes in their lives but may feel unsure where to start. My clients value honesty, humor, and a straightforward approach—they appreciate someone who can offer both compassion and clarity. Many come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in old patterns they’re ready to break. Whether you’re navigating stress, self-doubt, or relationship challenges, I’ll help you understand what’s getting in the way and take practical steps toward lasting growth and balance.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
Clients often describe my approach as honest, fair, and grounded—with a good sense of humor when it’s needed. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe to be yourself and can trust your therapist to be both compassionate and straightforward. I aim to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and also gently challenged to grow. I’m transparent about what I see and always approach our work with integrity and collaboration. My focus is on helping you gain clarity, take practical steps forward, and build lasting change that feels authentic to you.
How can you provide EMDR remotely?
I use EMDR to help clients work through distressing memories or experiences that still feel ‘stuck’ in the present. My approach is calm, structured, and collaborative—you’ll always know what to expect as we move through each step. Together, we build stability and grounding skills before processing deeper experiences, so you feel safe and supported throughout. EMDR can be especially effective for reducing emotional triggers and helping you respond to life with more balance and confidence. During our sessions, we will utilize RemotEMDR telehealth video to begin the bilateral eye stimulation. You will be provided with a personalized link to your private room once we complete the phases to begin the desensitizing phase.
