About Sandra
My name is Sandra Bevington PLMHP. I am a single mother of two grown children. The oldest has Aspergers Syndrome and the youngest is developmentally delayed. I have worked with children in a school setting as well as a Behavioral facility. I have also worked with adolescents in a Treatment facility. I graduated from Bellevue University. With two Masters degrees. One is a Masters of Science and the other is a Masters in Clinical Counseling.
Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist because i have two children that have special needs. The oldest has Aspergers Syndrome and the youngest one is developementally delayed. I noticed that there was not enough for these kids and families.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
I would say that Therapy while at times may be uncomfortable. It is a healthy way to deal with issues and things that are not being addressed in other ways.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
I am empathtic and will listen and offer a safe and confidential space to work through issues. I also will use some humor
What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
A typical session is relaxed and up front i explain that what the client says goes no further then the office.
How can you provide care remotely?
I can use online sessions and again explain that what the client says is between us. I also listen and offer some resources for the client
