About Schaune

Hello! I'm Schaune D. Gamble, a dedicated and compassionate licensed clinical social worker with a heart for helping individuals and families navigate life's challenges. With my Master of Social Work from Fordham University, I've spent years building expertise in mental health, domestic violence, and substance abuse. At the core of my practice is a commitment to creating a warm, safe space where you can share your story and work towards healing without fear of judgment. Whether it's through individual therapy, family sessions, or innovative approaches like art and music therapy, I tailor my support to fit your unique needs. My journey has led me to support patients in various settings - from hospitals ensuring smooth transitions back home, to nursing homes where I've uplifted the spirits of our cherished elderly community. As an advocate for mental wellness, I've also brought my skills directly into workplaces to foster healthier environments. I believe in the power of understanding each person's story and working collaboratively towards achieving your goals. If you're looking for someone who listens intently and champions your well-being every step of the way, I'm here for you. Let's embark on this journey together towards a brighter, more resilient future.

How do you work with clients with anxiety?

Establishing a trustworthy relationship and fostering a supportive atmosphere are my top priorities when working with clients who experience anxiety. I use scientifically supported methods, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), to recognize and confront harmful thought patterns. Exercises in relaxation and mindfulness are combined to help with managing overwhelming emotions. Together, we tackle the underlying causes and set attainable goals. Through ongoing assessment and evolving therapeutic approaches, interventions are tailored to each client's unique needs with the goal of empowering them and fostering resilience and improved well-being.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

With a Master of Social Work from Fordham University, I became a therapist because you genuinely love to assist people in overcoming issues related to mental health, domestic abuse, and substance abuse. My desire to have a positive influence, support mental health, and establish a secure, accepting environment where people can tell their stories is what drives you. My continued dedication to promoting resilience and well-being in those I serve is influenced by the fulfillment that comes from seeing clients make progress, my capacity to customize support to meet specific needs, and the variety of environments in which I've worked.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

I would like to reassure those who are apprehensive about seeking therapy: making this decision is immensely courageous and empowering. Asking for assistance is a brave step toward wellbeing and personal development rather than a show of weakness. You'll discover a private, accepting environment in therapy where you can discuss your difficulties and feelings. As a therapist, I am here to work with you on a journey customized to meet your specific needs and to offer support without passing judgment. It's critical to understand that asking for assistance is a strength and that going to therapy can help you learn useful coping mechanisms for the challenges of everyday life. My goal is to establish a secure and encouraging space where you can start your path to recovery and self-improvement.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

Consider working with me, a dedicated licensed clinical social worker with expertise in mental health, domestic violence, and substance abuse. I hold a Master of Social Work from Fordham University and offer a warm, judgment-free space tailored to individual needs, utilizing traditional and innovative therapies. With diverse experience in various settings, I advocate for mental wellness, fostering healthier workplace environments. My approach emphasizes understanding each person's story and collaborative goal-setting to champion well-being and support a brighter, more resilient future.

What do therapy sessions with you look like?

I provide a secure and individualized therapeutic environment in which people can freely talk about any issues they may be having, whether they are related to mental health, domestic abuse, or substance misuse. I place a strong emphasis on group inquiry, judgment-free listening, and the integration of many therapeutic modalities, including cutting-edge strategies like music and art therapy. My mission is to promote well-being and work cooperatively toward a better, more resilient future, whether in individual or family sessions.

How can you provide care remotely?

Select a safe telehealth platform, make sure clients have the required technology, and get informed consent before offering remote therapy. Evaluate preparedness and deal with privacy. Make use of interesting tools, keep your schedule organized, and handle money and paperwork safely. Keep abreast of developments in telehealth, solicit input, and modify your strategy to suit clients' needs efficiently.

How does career counseling work and how can it help?

A collaborative process known as career counseling aids people in determining and managing their career paths. It starts with self-evaluation, moves on to interests and abilities exploration, goal setting, and skill development. Counselors help with developing strategies for job searching, interview preparation, and resume creation. Through the process, one can become more self-aware, make better decisions, feel more satisfied at work, be more competitive in the job market, and receive support when changing careers. All things considered, career counseling promotes professional development and fulfillment while enabling people to make well-informed career decisions.
