How do you work with clients with anxiety?
I work with clients experiencing anxiety by creating a calm, supportive space where they feel safe to explore their thoughts and triggers. Using approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based techniques, I help clients identify and challenge anxious thinking patterns while building practical coping skills they can use in everyday situations. I also focus on lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress management, and routine, and when appropriate, incorporate medication management as part of a well-rounded, individualized treatment plan.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
For those who feel hesitant to try therapy, I want you to know that it’s completely okay to feel unsure or even nervous starting something new, especially when it involves opening up, can be challenging. Therapy is not about being judged or told what to do; it’s about having a safe, supportive space where you can talk at your own pace and be heard. You don’t need to have everything figured out or even know exactly what to say just showing up is a meaningful first step. My role is to meet you where you are, help you make sense of what you’re going through, and support you in building tools to feel better in a way that fits your life.
How do you work with clients with depression?
I work with clients experiencing depression by taking a compassionate, individualized, and holistic approach. I start by creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences, thoughts, and emotions at their own pace. From there, I collaborate with each client to better understand the root causes and contributing factors of their depression. Together, we identify patterns in thinking, behavior, and lifestyle that may be impacting their mood. I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients challenge negative thought patterns, build healthier coping strategies, and reconnect with activities and values that bring meaning to their lives.
