How do you work with clients with depression?
I work with clients with depression by first creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they feel comfortable sharing what they are going through. Depression can affect mood, energy, sleep, motivation, relationships, and day-to-day functioning, so I take time to understand the full picture of each person’s symptoms, stressors, history, and goals. From there, I use a collaborative approach to develop a treatment plan that may include education, supportive therapy, coping strategies, lifestyle guidance, and medication management when appropriate. My goal is to help clients feel heard while also giving them practical tools to move toward healing. I believe treatment works best when it is personalized, because depression can look different for everyone. By building a strong therapeutic relationship and maintaining open communication, I help clients track progress, address setbacks, and make thoughtful adjustments along the way so they can begin to feel more stable, hopeful, and empowered.
How does motivational interviewing work and how can it help?
Motivational interviewing is a collaborative, patient-centered approach that helps people explore their thoughts, goals, and mixed feelings about change. Instead of forcing advice, it works through open conversation. The goal is to help you identify what matters to you, what may be getting in the way, and what steps feel realistic. It is especially helpful when someone feels stuck, uncertain, or not fully ready to make a change. It can help by: improving motivation for treatment building confidence in your ability to make changes reducing resistance or shame during difficult conversations supporting healthier habits, coping skills, and decision-making helping with concerns like anxiety, depression, substance use, medication adherence, and lifestyle changes The process is respectful and nonjudgmental. It gives you space to feel heard while also helping you move toward meaningful progress at your own pace.
How do you work with clients with women's issues?
I work with clients facing women’s issues by creating a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where they can openly discuss their concerns. These may include mood changes, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem, reproductive mental health, stress from caregiving roles, or the emotional impact of work and family responsibilities. My approach is collaborative and personalized, meaning I take time to understand each person’s experiences, goals, and challenges before developing a treatment plan that fits their needs. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. That means combining compassionate listening with practical strategies, education, and evidence-based care to help clients feel more empowered and balanced. I work closely with each client to build trust, strengthen coping skills, and support long-term emotional wellness, while respecting their personal values, background, and stage of life.
