What's your experience with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)?
I have a level one certification in TEAM CBT. In addition, I am currently completing the work to become a certified Beck Clinician through the Beck Institute. I have experience leading CBT groups in residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care and continue to use it in private practice.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
I believe that everyone has the power to heal themselves, and therapy is a space for that to happen. I approach therapy with the knowledge that each person is different, but by building a strong connection with empathy, understanding, and compassion, healing can begin to take place. I understand that beginning therapy can be intimidating and I work to create an environment where a person can process without judgment. Deciding to reach out is the first step.
How can you provide care remotely?
In order to provide care remotely, I utilize telehealth options. Telehealth is therapy via video or phone rather than in person. I have been offering telehealth sessions prior to coronavirus, and during this time to prioritize everyone's physical and mental health I am continuing to offer telehealth sessions as an option rather than in person sessions. That means my individual sessions, family sessions, and group sessions are either through a secure video platform or over the phone.
What's your experience with clients with eating disorders?
In addition to private practice, I have previously worked in treatment centers treating eating disorders/disordered eating and body images issues. At Mindfulpath I currently offer not only individual therapy but also groups for those struggling with these issues. For example, I have a process group that's called "Who Am I Without My Eating Disorder?" that's currently offered via telehealth now.
What's your experience with exposure response prevention?
I currently offer ERP (exposure response prevention) in private practice, a technique often used in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder. I have prior experience using ERP in residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care in addition to using it in private practice now. I also have CBT training and am finishing my work to become a Beck Certified Clinician; and these trainings have added to my ERP skill set.
