About Stephanie

While my specialization is in the treatment of Anxiety using neurofeedback, I also see clients for traditional psychotherapy using methods that are proven to work. I have an eclectic counseling style by drawing upon classical theories and evidence-based methods, such as CBT and Neuroscience, to inform the counseling process. My interventions are diverse and range from mindfulness exercises to solution-focused to behavior modification planning. I am also a HeartMath® Certified Clinician, Reiki Master, and Author of the forthcoming book "How to Hack Anxiety Fast" book scheduled to be released in late 2024.

How does couples therapy work and how can it help?

It is a collaborative effort from all parties and can help the couple greatly improve communication and understanding, if the couple is open.

How do you work with clients with anxiety?

While my specialization is in the treatment of anxiety using neurofeedback, I have long suffered from it myself to know plenty of non-technical methods to help ease and re-program anxiety in the brain.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

As someone who suffered from stress and anxiety starting at the tender age of four, I know how hard mental health issues can stump growth, weight down our livelihood, and reduce quality of life. This personal experience made me determined to figure out a better path forward not only for myself but so that I can help others. It took personal life experience of debilitating anxiety to get to where I am and become who I am today. I hope that I can help clients come out the other end and be able to say the same thing for themselves.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

Don't be afraid to try it. You can always decide not to return if you aren't comfortable. You are not beholden to it if you decide not to continue. But you owe it to yourself to at least give it a chance. You might be surprised.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

I am gentle in my approach yet I will encourage and challenge you to work towards becoming who you are meant to be, beyond your mental health blocks. Sometimes this requires taking a good look in the mirror. I go at a pace that is comfortable for this process and will always honor your level of comfort.

What do therapy sessions with you look like?

I am very engaged and active in my sessions. I like to listen but I also like to ask thought-provoking questions and help you find techniques that can help you move the meter on your path to better mental health.
