For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
I completely understand that trying therapy can feel intimidating. What I’d love for you to know is that therapy is a collaborative process—you're in control of your healing. It’s a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear. My goal is to help you feel supported, provide new tools and perspectives, and ultimately empower you to manage your mental health in a way that feels right for you. Therapy can be a game changer, offering relief and clarity when you need it most.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
If you're thinking about working with me, I want you to know that I’m here to provide holistic, compassionate care. I take a person-centered approach, meaning I see you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. I believe in the power of education, collaboration, and respect, and I’ll work with you to find the best treatment options tailored to your needs. Whether through therapy, medication management, or a combination of both, my goal is to empower you to feel better and live a more balanced life. You can expect me to be both supportive and committed to your well-being every step of the way.
How do you work with clients with trauma and PTSD?
When working with clients dealing with trauma and PTSD, I create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your experiences without fear. I use trauma-focused therapies like Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you process and reframe your trauma at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Mindfulness-based techniques and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) are also part of my approach, helping you become aware of your thoughts and emotions without letting them overwhelm you. My priority is helping you feel empowered and resilient in your healing journey.
How does mindfulness-based therapy (MBCT) work and how can it help?
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) works by helping you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings without getting caught up in them. We use mindfulness practices, like meditation and breathing exercises, combined with cognitive-behavioral strategies to interrupt negative thought patterns. This approach can be especially helpful if you struggle with anxiety, depression, or stress. It helps you stay present and calm, giving you more control over how you respond to life's challenges.
How do you work with clients with grief?
When I work with clients experiencing grief, I approach them with compassion and care. I understand that grief is a deeply personal experience, and I tailor my interventions to what each individual needs. I use emotionally focused and strength-based methods to help you process your emotions and guide you through the stages of grief. Mindfulness techniques can be helpful in grounding you in the present moment, and I’ll work alongside you at your own pace, supporting you as you navigate your feelings and begin to heal.
