About Tashanti
I am a therapist intern currently completing my Master of Social Work (MSW) and bringing over three years of direct service experience supporting youth, parents, and families. My approach is rooted in talk therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I create a safe, collaborative space where clients 18 and older can feel supported in working through anxiety, trauma, identity challenges, and life transitions.
How does cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) work and how can it help?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll look at patterns that may be causing stress or unhappiness and practice new ways of thinking and coping. CBT is practical and goal-focused, giving you tools to manage difficult emotions, handle challenges more easily, and make positive changes in your daily life.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Sessions with me are collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your unique needs. I create a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your concerns, build on your strengths, and work toward your goals. Together, we’ll identify patterns, develop practical strategies, and practice skills that promote growth and resilience. I combine evidence-based approaches with empathy and curiosity, so you feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout the process.
How do you work with clients with parenting issues?
I take a strengths-based and collaborative approach when working with parents. I help clients identify their existing skills and resources while exploring areas where they may want support or growth. Together, we address challenges such as discipline, communication, managing stress, and navigating co-parenting dynamics. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for parents to reflect, problem-solve, and develop strategies that feel realistic and aligned with their values. My goal is to empower parents to feel confident and supported in their parenting journey.
How does multicultural therapy work and how can it help?
Multicultural therapy focuses on your unique background, culture, and life experiences. Together, we’ll explore how these aspects of your identity affect your feelings, thoughts, and challenges. This approach provides a safe, understanding space to work through difficulties, build self-awareness, and find strategies that feel meaningful and relevant to your life.
