Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I identify as a Highly-Sensitive Person, which meant I felt my emotions so deeply that it was seen as a fault. I did not realize I could use my authentic self as a career. I fell in love with psychology and decided I could take that risk and got into a doctorate's program studying the very thing that brought me so much insight! I am motivated through seeing the growth in each one of my clients. The strong relationships we fostered and how much they have learned about themselves keep me going.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

It's terrifying to try something new and be vulnerable! I totally get it. I understand the potential stigma of reaching out for help or even sharing about your personal details. It gets easier, I assure you. Find a few people to support you in your therapy search journey and reach out to those who may have gone through therapy themselves. You may not find the perfect match in your first pick, but don't let that discourage you.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

I believe it's important to find a therapist who matches your preferences! I am an active participator in therapy. I enjoy providing feedback, expressing my genuine responses, and pointing out things you may or may not notice yourself doing. I am pretty direct yet kind.
