Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

Witnessing and experiencing different forms of violence and trauma throughout my upbringing sparked my interest in the mental health field. I was specifically drawn to marriage and family therapy, as I find that the family unit and an individual’s role in that unit is a critical aspect to their emotional development. In my time as a psychotherapist, I’ve worked with HIV positive individuals and their families, youth transitioning out of the foster care system, young adults dealing with anxiety, depression, and self-esteem difficulties. I’ve also worked with adult criminal offenders who were reintegrating back into society. My passion is working with individuals who are motivated and seeking to expand their emotional growth.

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

I am committed to helping individuals learn how to develop healthier relationships with others, increase self-esteem and motivation, and work through past traumas that continue to resurface in their current relationships. My approach to therapy is strength based, solution focused, and trauma informed. I believe in taking a collaborative approach in treatment planning and I meet my clients where they’re at emotionally by providing a safe and supportive space to aid in their personal growth.
