About Me

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I was always the friend that everyone confided in or asked for help from. When I decided to go to graduate school, I figured being a therapist was a good fit. The first day of classes and my professor was going into more detail about what a counselor is, it hit me "This is exactly what I want to be doing for the rest of my life". Why do I keep doing it? I love the work. I love being there with a client who finally makes the connection needed to change and seeing them grow during our time together.
About Me

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

The first time I tried therapy, I felt like it wasn't for me. I couldn't be honest with them or myself and I didn't feel connected to my therapist. I didn't know that you could change your therapist and that not everyone is a good fit. It took me almost a decade to go back. Now, I have an awesome therapist who helps me to feel more like who I'm supposed to be and not the person my past made me.
About Me

What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?

I try my best to be as open and genuine with my clients as I can. I want to create a space for my clients that they feel safe and feel like they aren't being judged talking with me.
About Me

How can you provide care remotely?

I've found that my clients feel more comfortable in their own space and are more open to sharing and being vulnerable. I'm not able to use non-verbal cues like I can with a client in front of me, but have still been able to do some great work with clients through remote sessions.
