How do you work with clients on anger management?
I view anger as an important signal rather than the problem itself. Together, we'll explore the thoughts, emotions, and situations that contribute to angry reactions while identifying healthier ways to respond. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, I help clients strengthen emotional regulation, improve communication, and develop practical coping strategies so they can respond to challenges with greater confidence and control.
Life can look manageable on the outside while feeling overwhelming on the inside. Many of my clients are balancing demanding careers, family responsibilities, or major life transitions and find themselves struggling with persistent anxiety, low mood, poor sleep, panic, or emotional exhaustion. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward. I provide telehealth services for adults throughout California and New York, specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, insomnia, panic disorders, PMDD, and other emotional challenges. I take a collaborative, evidence-based approach that may include therapy, medication management, and practical coping strategies tailored to your unique needs and goals. Together, we'll develop a personalized plan that supports meaningful, lasting improvement in your mental health and overall well-being. I also offer a free 10-minute consultation so you can ask questions, discuss your concerns, and determine whether we're the right fit before beginning treatment.

How do you work with clients on anger management?
When working with anger, I focus on getting to the root of what is driving it, whether it is stress, trauma, mood shifts, or other underlying conditions. I do not rush to medicate unless it is truly needed, and when I do, I explain exactly what the medication is for and what it is not for. Education and transparency are central to how I practice. I want you to always know why we are doing something and feel comfortable questioning it. My role is to listen deeply, provide clarity on diagnosis, and support you with both clinical expertise and respect for your own decision making. The goal is not just to manage anger but to help you understand yourself better and regain control with tools and treatment tailored precisely to you.
Sean Kim, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who provides compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care. As a PMHNP, he is licensed to diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe and manage medications, and provide ongoing treatment; with emphasis on whole-person, patient-centered care. He specializes in treating ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. Currently, serving patients in Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Torrance, and throughout Los Angeles County. For those outside the South Bay, He also offers secure tele-health appointments anywhere in California. His approach blends thorough psychiatric evaluation, thoughtful medication management, and integrative strategies to help you feel like yourself again, focused, balanced, and confident in your daily life. He created Lumina Wellness to transform psychiatric care by providing personalized, high-quality treatment that is both accessible and sustainable. He believes patients deserve more than rushed five-minute appointments; they deserve thoughtful, individualized care where their needs are heard and respected. By accepting insurance without compromising quality, we are changing the way medication management is done, making comprehensive mental health care available to everyone while maintaining the highest standards of compassion and clinical excellence.

Are you finding it difficult to form or maintain meaningful relationships? Struggling with self-esteem, anxiety, or feeling like you're not “enough” no matter how much you achieve? Perhaps you appear successful on the outside, but inside, you're overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or simply not feeling like yourself. You’re not alone and you don’t have to navigate this alone either. You may have tried to manage things on your own, ignoring the signs, pushing through, hoping things will get better. But if you're reading this, something inside you knows it's time for a different approach. Therapy can be that turning point. Together, we’ll work to understand what's beneath the surface and begin to build a more empowered, fulfilling life. As an immigrant from Central America, I deeply understand the cultural pressures, generational expectations, and identity struggles that can weigh heavily on us. I also know the courage it takes, especially in communities where therapy is often stigmatized to ask for help. There is nothing weak about seeking support. In fact, it’s one of the bravest things you can do for yourself. I provide a warm, non-judgmental space where your lived experiences are acknowledged and honored. My trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach ensures that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your story is unique, and the healing process should reflect that. I work with adults navigating: Anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm Relationship and attachment challenges Grief, loss, and life transitions First-generation identity struggles and intergenerational trauma Immigration-related stress and cultural adjustment Burnout, perfectionism, and low self-worth, even in high-achieving individuals The emotional impact of racism and systemic oppression on BIPOC communities Whether you're seeking clarity, connection, or peace of mind, we’ll co-create a path that aligns with your values and goals.
