How does sex therapy work and how can it help?
Sex therapy provides a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to explore concerns related to intimacy, sexuality, desire, communication, identity, trauma, or relationship patterns. It can help individuals and couples better understand their needs, reduce shame, improve communication, and build a healthier connection with themselves and their partners. Sex therapy may support clients navigating sexual anxiety, intimacy difficulties, gender or sexuality concerns, past trauma, relationship challenges, or changes in desire and connection.
I support children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are navigating emotional, relational, identity, and life-transition challenges. My work focuses on helping clients better understand themselves, build practical coping skills, strengthen communication, and create meaningful change in their daily lives. I specialize in concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, gender and sexuality exploration, and family or relationship challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based therapies including DBT, ACT, Exposure Therapy, trauma-informed care, Gottman Couples Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. As a certified yoga teacher with training in Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and meditation, I also bring a mind-body perspective to therapy when helpful. Whether clients are seeking individual therapy, couples or family support, DBT skills, trauma recovery, or career guidance, my goal is to provide a supportive space where they can feel understood, empowered, and better equipped to move forward.

I am working on my dissertation in a doctoral program in clinical psychology. At our practice, we understand that every child is unique, facing their own challenges and strengths. My approach, under supervision, combines evidence-based techniques with a deep understanding of individual needs, ensuring that each intervention is tailored to promote effective learning and emotional health. Services include: 1. **Educational Therapy**: I design customized learning plans to help children with learning disabilities overcome obstacles and enhance their academic engagement. 2. **Behavioral Support**: Through targeted interventions, I assist students in developing healthier behavior patterns and coping skills, fostering a positive environment for growth. 3. **Family Collaboration**: I believe in the power of a supportive network. I work closely with families, providing guidance and resources to navigate educational placements and special education services. 4. **Community Outreach**: My commitment extends beyond individual therapy. I lead workshops and training sessions to raise awareness and provide support for students with special needs within the community. Together, we can create a nurturing atmosphere where children thrive, empowering them to reach their full potential. If you’re ready to take the next step, I invite you to reach out and schedule a consultation. Let’s work together to build a brighter future.

Are you feeling overwhelmed and stuck? Are you repeating frustrating patterns? Do you feel unsure of how to move forward? It’s normal to feel this way when facing major life transitions in a complex and often oppressive world.  Working together, I will help you slow down and pay attention to what is happening on the inside with gentleness and curiosity to find answers from your inner wisdom. By changing your relationship with yourself, you can feel more grounded, confident, and authentic. Doing so will allow you to access your most profound sense of empowerment and make clear choices to lead a more meaningful life.  When you face major life transitions, you may feel anxious, sad, isolated, frustrated, or confused. If you have a chronic or terminal illness, grief from the death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship or a job, or are exploring your gender or sexual orientation; therapy can provide support and connection as you navigate challenges and choices.  While the lens through which I view the therapy process is existential and transpersonal, my work is fundamentally trauma-informed and social justice-oriented (anti-oppressive). The most common piece of feedback I receive from clients is that they feel more empowered, confident, and grounded after working with me. I am known for providing a safe, non-judgmental space where we explore your feelings, thoughts, choices, and values with gentle curiosity to increase self-awareness and self-compassion to improve your relationship with yourself and others. Together we can sort through what you are feeling to gain insight and relief so you can live with enhanced authenticity and integrity.
