How do you work with clients with pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum issues?
Working with clients during pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum stages requires care, compassion, and an understanding of just how significant this season of life can be. It can hold excitement and meaning while also bringing anxiety, overwhelm, identity changes, relationship challenges, and emotions you may not have expected. My goal is to support you as a whole person—not simply manage symptoms. Whether you're experiencing anxiety during pregnancy, struggling after birth, adjusting to your new identity, or noticing changes in your relationship, therapy provides a space where you don't have to hold everything together. Together, we can work through anxiety, intrusive thoughts, mood changes, identity shifts, relationship concerns, communication difficulties, exhaustion, and feeling disconnected from yourself. Using supportive, evidence-based approaches, I'll help you understand what you're experiencing, regulate your emotions and nervous system, and develop tools that are realistic for this stage of life. I also understand that pregnancy and having a new baby don't always make attending scheduled therapy sessions easy. That's why I offer secure asynchronous messaging therapy, giving you the flexibility to reach out when you have the time, energy, or need for support. You can share what you're experiencing in the moment and receive thoughtful therapeutic guidance without having to wait for your next scheduled appointment. If you're navigating this transition with a partner, I can also help you strengthen communication, maintain connection, and learn how to approach parenthood as a team. Above all, I want you to have a place where you can be honest about what you're experiencing without judgment or expectations. You don't have to wait until things become overwhelming to ask for support, and therapy can be designed to fit into your life rather than becoming another thing you have to manage.
