You will also be assigned homework and I will provide you with the resources you need (quizzes, pdf’s, book recommendations, etc) to achieve your goals outside of your session. I am a licensed social worker and I am trained in marriage and family therapy. What that means is that in therapy we will look at the patterns in your life, your connections with others and the impact of your environment when working toward your goals. Hello! My name is Nikki Schuster, and I am a Licensed Social Worker providing Telehealth therapy services to private pay clients located in Colorado. I have a Master's of Social Work degree from MSU Denver, and I am passionate about meeting my clients where they are at, highlighting their strengths, and collaborating to achieve any goals they may have. I utilized a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, based on each individual client's goals and needs. I specialize in family conflict, anxiety, and grief, and can also assist with depression, addiction, trauma, and chronic illness. I provide both individual ($110 per session) and couples ($125) therapy, and having a sliding scale available for those who need it. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a woman with a disability, and I pride myself on being a safe space for other marginalized individuals. Outside of work, I love to travel and create art.

Treatment Styles:  I believe not one treatment style fits every person. We, as a therapist client team, should try different techniques until we find the best fit for you. I work with multiple research based clinical approaches such as: Animal Assisted Therapy and Interventions (AAT) Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Somatic Therapies Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Motivational interviewing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Experiential Therapies like: Art and Play Therapy Guided Imagery Movement Based Therapies. When using any of these treatment theories, I always practice in a trauma informed, strength based, and client centered way.
