I am a Licensed Psychologist providing virtual concierge therapy services to teens and adults throughout New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Connecticut, and Florida. I am also a Ketamine-Assisted-Psychotherapy (KAP) provider. I mainly work with highly motivated individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, and depression, as well as those struggling with setting and maintaining appropriate boundaries with others. I tailor my approach to fit the needs of each individual in order to increase flexibility, uniqueness, privacy, and comfort. I believe one of the most important factors is the therapeutic relationship. I take the time to build a solid therapeutic relationship so I can best serve you. I have training in various areas including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, grief, trauma-focused, mindfulness-based interventions, positive psychology, and LGBTQIA+. Catherine is a Board Certified Licensed Mental Health Clinician, a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Associations [AMHCA], and a training Clinical Hypnotherapist. Most of her professional practice has been with children, adolescents and adults. Catherine received her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from Carlos Albizu University in Miami. Catherine is also a graduate of Florida International University. Her early work consisted of working with children in the foster care system with Kids in Distress and Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. Catherine has worked for 10 years in community mental health programs within Miami-Dade and Broward. She has served more than a year with the Youth Emergency Services [YES] mobile crisis team post-licensure. Areas of study include Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Trauma informed interventions, Infant and Child Play Therapy, and parenting support education through the Nurturing Parenting Program. Catherine is currently employed full-time with the Florida Department of Education. She is currently working on completing licensure in Hypnotherapy with the Wellness Institute. Catherine is a follower of the AMHCA Code of Ethics and recommends that you read them here. Hi and thanks for taking a look at my profile. Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially since most of us are doing so during a time of stress or crisis. My approach to therapy is very relational and experiential. I believe that healing and transformation can happen only in the context of a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. It's a huge step to reach out to a therapist for help. I hope I can make it as easy as possible for you and look forward to talking further to see if we're a good therapy match. I have been in practice for over 25 years and work primarily with adults (ages 18+) struggling with a variety of life issues. Relationships, career, divorce, stress management, family issues and general challenges with life transitions are some of the things that bring my clients into therapy. I work individually, as well as with couples and groups.

I love giving my clients a warm, safe space to openly share their most guarded thoughts and feelings so that they feel they can be open about the burdens they carry and have them lifted through our work together.

Why am I the therapist for you? Because I’ve been there. In addition to being a therapist, I’m also a woman, business owner, wife, mother, daughter, and friend. I know firsthand the demands on modern women to balance family, career, household, and personal obligations. I know what it feels like to run yourself into the ground and question whether you’re really doing any of it well enough. I know the pain of trauma, divorce, growing up with an emotionally unavailable parent, and raising a child with special needs. I’ve struggled with anxiety, perfectionism, and feeling responsible for everyone else’s happiness and well-being. Prioritizing my own mental health and choosing to live with intention and connection to my own truth brought me a peace I had never known before.  DR. ARTHUR’S BACKGROUND Dr. Arthur Chen, Psy.D, CCTP, is a Licensed Psychologist in private practice, located in Boca Raton, Florida. He has two Masters Degrees in Psychology (Masters of Applied Psychology with a specialization in Counseling and a Masters of Clinical Psychology) along with a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Arthur is currently appointed as an Associate Professor of Psychology and is the Primary Therapist for a dual diagnosis residential treatment center. He has also worked as a Primary Therapist for both an eating disorder and a substance use treatment center. Moreover, he is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP). In addition to his years of experience working with eating disorders, primary mental health, and substance abuse, Dr. Arthur has worked with patients with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety (including Generalised Anxiety and Phobias), depression, thought disorders, and personality disorders. Clinically, he works with a wide age range from children to older adults. He has worked with adults who do not necessarily have a “disorder” but are struggling with the responsibilities and pressures of adulthood. Dr. Arthur has also presented and lectured at psychology conferences throughout the United States and is fluent in both English and Mandarin. Additionally, he has received numerous recognitions for his contributions to the community mental health needs of South Florida. Dr. Arthur has been recognized by the Boca Raton Police Dept’s Crisis Negotiations Team, Pembroke Pines Police’s Crisis Response Team, and Plantation Police Dept’s Crisis Response Team for his efforts in furthering the respective departments training and education on mental health. In his off time, Dr. Arthur is an avid outdoorsman including a passion for automotive racing, motorcycling, backpacking, and horseback riding. He has ridden horseback throughout the United States, South Africa, and Costa Rica. He also backpacked throughout Europe and South American while completing his graduate studies at Nova Southeastern University, in Davie Florida. He is also passionate about giving back to the community and has volunteered with various charities in South Florida. He has been a Big Brother through the Big Brother Big Sister Program of America for the last 16 years. He was very honored to have been the Big Brother Big Sister nominee for the Men with Caring Hearts Outstanding Male Volunteer Award given by the Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, Boca Raton, FL in 2016.
