I became a therapist out of my love for helping others. Life is challenging and we all go through struggles. I believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to feel heard, validated, valued, inspired and worthy. My goal is to help you become the best version of yourself by providing a warm and empathic environment while offering guidance and skills to effectively manage your life. Whether you are struggling with a chronic mental health diagnosis, situational depression or common life stressors, therapy can help. Nurturing your mental health is one of the most important things you can do!  I specialize in working with teens and young adults. I have found the most benefit in working with young women to develop confidence, self love and let go of societal expectations telling us who we should be to fully embrace who we are. In additional, I enjoy working with college aged kids to help manage academic stressors and expectations and develop coping skills to reduce anxiety and depression. As a recent new mom, I have also found great joy in working with pre and postpardum mom’s to help address anxiety, depression, increase coping skills, normalize the experience and provide support to all the challenges and joys that come with being a mom. Areas of expertise include trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders and grief/loss. I strongly believe that managing our emotions is paramount to quality mental health. Simply talking about our emotions doesn’t solve the overall problem. However, when we are aware of our emotions, understand them and process them rather than avoid them, we can respond rather than react. Our decision making does not have to always be in response to an emotion. Balancing emotions with knowldege, insight and awareness is key to regulating emotions and regulating emotion is one of the most important skills one can possess. After all, emotions drive human behavior. When we can effecitvely and healthfully manage them, we are better able to navigate realtionships, address conflct, improve relationships, reduce stress and live our lives to the best of our potential. This, in combination with developing personalized coping skills, is what I base my therapeutic interventions on.
