How does psychodynamic therapy work and how can it help?
Psychodynamic therapy helps you better understand the deeper emotional patterns, past experiences, attachment wounds, and unconscious beliefs that may be shaping how you relate to yourself and others today. In our work together, we may explore how early relationship experiences, fears, shame, or repeated patterns show up in your current relationships, intimacy, communication, and sense of self.
This approach can be especially helpful if you find yourself repeating the same conflicts, feeling stuck in old emotional reactions, struggling with vulnerability, or unsure why certain relationship or sexual concerns feel so difficult to change. By bringing these patterns into awareness, we can create more choice, self-compassion, and emotional freedom, helping you build healthier, more connected relationships.
I’m an AASECT-certified sex therapist and licensed psychotherapist who works with individuals and couples navigating concerns related to relationships, sex, and intimacy. Many of the clients I work with are experiencing distress around desire discrepancies, difficulty being present or fully enjoying sex, sexual functioning challenges, or are looking to explore and expand their sexuality—including kink, BDSM, or polyamorous relationship dynamics
While I am highly trained in sex therapy, I also specialize in couples therapy and help couples navigating relationship issues like emotional intimacy, conflict, parenting issues, and affair recovery.
Sessions with me are warm, direct, rich with tangible tools and strategies to help you overcome the challenges you're facing in your relationship. Each session is tailored directly to your needs. Together, we will normalize what's going on and find ways forward so you can start living your most fulfilled, erotic, and passionate life.
