Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Online Therapy
Greetings! Thank you for viewing my profile. I am an inclusive and affirming Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a decade of experience providing compassionate care. I have a background in integrated care, residential treatment, and outpatient care where I have served clients from diverse populations. I have training and years of experience working with autistic individuals, people of the LGBTQAI+ community, and people with a variety of mental health diagnoses ranging from mild to severe. I work to optimize medications during our appointments in addition to the use of eclectic therapeutic interventions that meet the client's needs where they are at. We will work to adapt and cope with current and past stressors including understanding sensory sensitivities if applicable. I am a member on the Spokane Autism Collaborative with the Spokane Regional Health District. I have been a Autism Center of Excellence since 2018. When I am not working I enjoy learning and integrating mental health themes into my art work. I also enjoy sharing affection with my three cavapoo dogs who look like red teddy bears. *Specialties •Mental Health *Conditions treated •Depression •Anxiety •Bipolar disorders •Schizophrenia •PTSD •ADHD •Autism •LGBTQ+ •Medication Management •Mood Disorders •OCD •Stress •Relationship Issues •Identity Issues •Transgender Issues *Treatment philosophy To embody authenticity, see the best in people, and serve with compassion. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here! You can call me Mckenna or Kenna (they/them). I identify as Queer, neurodivergent, a “spoonie”, and was raised on the unceded land of the Duwamish people, now known as Seattle. As an ally to those with marginalized identities, I’m grounded in the belief that our collective liberation is interconnected. I recognize how structural harms shape our experiences and healing journeys, and I’m committed to creating an inclusive, gender-affirming, sex-positive space rooted in Health at Every Size, and beyond. My work blends Liberation Psychology and Feminist Theory, striving to be authentic, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive. I hold a MA from Antioch University Seattle, trained in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy and am currently accepting new clients at Playful Minds Counseling. I have experience providing LGBTQIA2S+ and neurodivergent-affirming care to teens and young adults navigating their sexual orientation and gender exploration, life transitions, family dynamics (particularly for children of immigrants and third culture individuals), disability & chronic illness, trauma/PTSD/C-PTSD, and suicidal ideation. I believe in the healing power of the creative arts and will introduce you to art therapy. Whether or not we incorporate art in our work together, creativity can show up in many ways, and I look forward to exploring that with you.
