How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When I work with anxiety, I see it as your body’s way of trying to keep you safe—even when it overdoes it. Together, we slow things down enough to understand what’s underneath the tension and racing thoughts. I teach tools for calming the nervous system and gently reconnecting with your own sense of steadiness. We’ll explore both the surface triggers and the deeper stories that fuel the worry, so you can respond to stress from a calmer, more centered place. My style is warm, straightforward, and rooted in helping you build trust in yourself again.
As a licensed therapist, I bring over two decades of compassionate clinical experience supporting individuals through life's most challenging transitions. My practice centers on helping clients navigate complex emotional landscapes, with specialized expertise in depression, anxiety, grief, and mood disorders. I offer a deeply empathetic approach to addressing personal challenges such as social anxiety, isolation, workplace stress, and life transitions. My therapeutic work focuses on empowering individuals to cultivate self-love, develop resilient coping strategies, and heal from traumatic experiences. My professional background includes extensive work supporting women's mental health, caregivers, and individuals confronting significant life changes—from divorce and midlife transitions to serious health diagnoses. I am committed to creating a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, build inner strength, and develop meaningful pathways toward personal growth and emotional wellness.

How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When working with patients experiencing anxiety, I utilize an integrative approach that combines psychodynamic work, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques. Psychodynamic work helps uncover and address underlying emotional conflicts and past experiences contributing to anxiety. With CBT, we identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs, replacing them with more realistic and positive ones. DBT adds another layer of healing, focusing on emotional regulation and distress tolerance, helping patients manage intense emotions. Mindfulness techniques teach clients to stay present and grounded, reducing the impact of anxious thoughts and fostering a sense of calm. By blending these methods, I offer a comprehensive and empathetic approach tailored to each client's unique needs, supporting them in managing their anxiety and enhancing their overall well-being.

How do you work with clients with anxiety?
Anxiety can feel overwhelming, making it hard to focus, relax, or feel in control. My approach to working with anxiety is to help you understand its root causes, develop tools to manage it effectively, and create lasting changes that improve your overall well-being.  What Help Looks Like I use evidence-based strategies tailored to your needs, including: • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns that fuel anxiety. • Mindfulness & Grounding Techniques: Teaching ways to stay present and reduce overthinking. • Exposure Therapy (if appropriate): Gradually facing fears in a safe and controlled way to reduce avoidance behaviors. • Nervous System Regulation: Helping you understand how anxiety affects your body and practicing techniques to calm it, such as breathwork and progressive muscle relaxation. • Practical Coping Strategies: Developing personalized techniques to manage daily stress, panic attacks, or social anxiety. What Clients Should Know • You Are Not Your Anxiety: It doesn’t define you, and it can be managed with the right tools. • Small Changes Make a Big Difference: Learning how to regulate your thoughts and emotions can significantly improve your daily life. • Healing Is a Process: Anxiety may not disappear overnight, but therapy can help you build confidence, resilience, and a greater sense of control. My goal is to empower you with strategies that help you feel calmer, more in control, and able to fully engage in life without anxiety holding you back.
As a licensed trauma therapist, I am dedicated to helping you navigate the challenges of trauma, anxiety, and emotional distress. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where we can work together to understand and rewire trauma responses that may be holding you back. By integrating evidence-based techniques, I help clients build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Through our work, you can expect to gain deeper self-awareness, enhance your ability to manage stress, and improve your relationships and overall well-being. I am committed to supporting your journey toward healing, empowering you to shift unhelpful thought patterns, and maximizing your personal and professional growth. You don’t have to navigate this alone—together, we can create meaningful and lasting change in your life.
