How can you provide care remotely?
At Mental Hope Psychiatry, care can be provided remotely through telepsychiatry. This approach allows you to receive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychoeducation from the comfort of your own home. By using secure video conferencing technology, we can ensure that you receive high-quality care while maintaining convenience and accessibility. Telepsychiatry supports the same patient-centered approach and therapeutic alliance as in-person visits, ensuring that you feel heard and supported throughout your mental health journey.
I’m Benjamin O'Brien, a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) with a deep commitment to helping people navigate their mental health journey. With a solid foundation in both psychiatric and primary care, I bring a holistic approach to mental health treatment, addressing not only the symptoms but the whole person. My career has been shaped by diverse experiences, from working in acute care settings to addiction medicine and community mental health. These experiences have given me a profound understanding of the complexities of mental health and the importance of tailored, patient-centered care. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from Walden University. My journey into healthcare began with a deep-seated passion for helping others, a passion that continues to fuel my dedication to my patients today. At Mental Hope Psychiatry, I specialize in psychiatric evaluations and medication management for a range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and substance use disorders. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where you can feel heard and understood, and together, we can work towards achieving your mental health goals. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy exploring the great outdoors, whether it’s skiing in the mountains or rollerblading through the park. I’m also an avid painter and love creating candles from recycled wine bottles—a reminder that even simple things can be transformed into something beautiful. *Specialties •Mental Health •Adult Psychiatry •Psychiatry •Psychotherapy *Conditions treated •Depression •Anxiety •Bipolar disorders •Schizophrenia •ADHD •PTSD •Addiction •Insomnia •Mood disorders •Panic attacks •Substance Abuse •OCD •Substance use disorder *Practice description At mentalHope Psychiatry, we are dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health care tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. How can you provide care remotely?
I am able to offer remote care via a variety of digital platforms and tools. Common techniques include secure messaging, video conferencing, and telehealth platforms. With the help of these technologies, we can have virtual consultations to talk about symptoms, treatment options, and other issues. Certain health metrics can also be tracked with the help of mobile health apps and remote monitoring devices. Even though there are fewer opportunities for in-person examinations in a remote setting, I can still give advice, write prescriptions when needed, and offer continuous support. The objective is to preserve the ease of remote access while guaranteeing continuity of care and effectively addressing health needs.
I am LaMonica, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. I was born and raised in Mississippi, and I graduated from Gentry High School. In 2009, I received my Practical Nursing Certification at Coahoma Community College. Continuing my education, I earned my Associates Degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College in 2012. Advancing further, I completed a Master’s Degree of Science in Nursing in 2015 at Walden University. Throughout my entire nursing career, my primary focus has been in Family Medicine. I began my career in a local Health Center, initially working as a staff nurse. As a Registered Nurse, I ventured into the field as a home health nurse and then transitioned to become the owner of an allied health school that trained CNAs, MAs, Phlebotomists, and Pharmacy Techs. After completing my master’s program, I opened my independent practice as a Nurse Practitioner before deciding to attend Medical School three years later. Currently, I am a fourth-year medical student at Washington University of Health and Science. Simultaneously, I am completing a third Master’s for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Wilkes University, which will be completed in April 2024. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family and cuddling up with a good movie.
