Hello, I have been in the nursing field for over 35 years. I graduated with my RN BSN from Bellin College of Nursing in 1989 and have worked to in several areas of care along with many states. I have worked in ICU, surgery, endocrinology, long term and short term rehab, and psychiatric care in residential, hospital and outpatient. I enjoy working with pre-teens through adults. I earned my Family Nurse Practitioner degree at South University in Savannah, Georgia in 2018 and went right back to Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri for my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree. I was married to a US Marine and lived in many states including Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, and Florida all of which I hope to incorporate into my practice to provide care in those states too. While in Michigan I earned a degree in American Sign Language. I enjoy spending time with my two daughters. One lives close in Sarasota, FL and my other lives in Kona, HI. My goal this year is to explore more of Florida! In my free time I do like to travel, sew, knit, do epoxy pens and tumblers, and paint on sand dollars I collect at different beaches. I believe that life is a journey and we will come to many crossroads. It is how you handle the decisions made that can make life positive or negative and I hope that with my care you will have success in having life be a more positive journey.

Are you feeling overwhelmed and stuck? Are you repeating frustrating patterns? Do you feel unsure of how to move forward? It’s normal to feel this way when facing major life transitions in a complex and often oppressive world.  Working together, I will help you slow down and pay attention to what is happening on the inside with gentleness and curiosity to find answers from your inner wisdom. By changing your relationship with yourself, you can feel more grounded, confident, and authentic. Doing so will allow you to access your most profound sense of empowerment and make clear choices to lead a more meaningful life.  When you face major life transitions, you may feel anxious, sad, isolated, frustrated, or confused. If you have a chronic or terminal illness, grief from the death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship or a job, or are exploring your gender or sexual orientation; therapy can provide support and connection as you navigate challenges and choices.  While the lens through which I view the therapy process is existential and transpersonal, my work is fundamentally trauma-informed and social justice-oriented (anti-oppressive). The most common piece of feedback I receive from clients is that they feel more empowered, confident, and grounded after working with me. I am known for providing a safe, non-judgmental space where we explore your feelings, thoughts, choices, and values with gentle curiosity to increase self-awareness and self-compassion to improve your relationship with yourself and others. Together we can sort through what you are feeling to gain insight and relief so you can live with enhanced authenticity and integrity.

Accepting new patients from anywhere in Texas! Do you sometimes wonder if what you're feeling is normal? Do you wonder why you are so forgetful, why it's so hard to concentrate, or why you easily get distracted? Or maybe it's hard to get out of bed in the morning, you lack the motivation to participate in life anymore, and you can sometimes be tearful for no reason? Is it hard to fall asleep at night or do you wake up multiple times which leaves you feeling exhausted the next day? Have you experienced trauma that has left you feeling anxious and on edge? You do not have to go through these challenges alone! I would like to help. My focus areas are ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders but I treat all mental health conditions. My hope is that patients leave their appointment feeling like their concerns have been heard and fully addressed, they were respected and not judged, they have a clear understanding of their treatment plan, and have a more hopeful outlook for their future. *Specialties •Psychiatry *Conditions treated •Depression •Anxiety •Bipolar disorders •PTSD •ADHD •Eating disorders •Personality disorders •Addiction •Geriatric Psychiatry •Insomnia •Anger Management •Female Psychiatry •Mood disorders •Obsessive-Compulsive •Pediatric Psychiatry •Trauma and PTSD •OCD •Substance abuse •Schizophrenia •Behavioural Therapy •Learning disabilities •Medication Management •Antisocial Personality •Borderline Personality (BPD) •Impulse Control Disorders •Oppositional Defiance (ODD) *Treatment philosophy I believe in treating patients holistically, taking into consideration mental, physical, environmental, and social factors.
