Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a physician to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives by improving their health and well-being. Establishing my own clinic allowed me to provide truly patient-centered care, focusing on prevention and long-term health. Seeing my patients achieve their health goals—whether managing a chronic condition, improving their well-being, or gaining confidence through weight management—fuels my passion for medicine every day.
Hello! I'm Dr. Marcelo Ernesto Brito Telles, a dedicated family physician based in the Lewisville/Carrollton/Denton area. With a passion for providing patient-centered care, I established my own clinic -Lakepointe Primary Care- with the goal to promote wellness and preventive healthcare for individuals of all ages, making sure each patient receives the personalized attention they deserve. As a healthcare provider, I have firsthand experience with GLP-1 medications, such as Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, for weight loss management. These medications have proven to be effective tools in supporting patients struggling with obesity by promoting feelings of fullness and regulating appetite. I have seen positive outcomes in patients, not only in weight reduction but also in improvements to overall health, including better blood sugar control. With proper medical guidance and lifestyle changes, GLP-1 therapies offer a promising approach for long-term weight management. I'm fluent in both English and Spanish, which allows me to communicate effectively with a diverse group of patients. Whether you're in need of a routine check-up or managing a chronic condition, I'm here to guide you on your health journey. I look forward to partnering with you for a healthier tomorrow! Treatment philosophy: I believe in providing compassionate, patient-centered care that focuses on the whole person, not just their symptoms. Building strong relationships with my patients is key. I engage with them actively, listening to their concerns and involving them in their treatment decisions. My core values center around empathy, respect, and empowerment. With extensive experience in family medicine, I specialize in managing chronic conditions and preventive care. I am also committed to serving underserved communities. Through education and support, I aim to help my patients achieve their health goals and improve their quality of life. Together, we can foster a healthier future. Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
My life circumstances necessitated that I watch and pay attention for safety. I adapted to difficult situations by analyzing the scenario and implementing the best measures to resolve the conflict. I am an empath and a sensitive. I read the room by it's emotional energy and instinctively gravitate to the crux of an issue and am not afraid to peel back the layers and address the elephant in the living room. I am motivated to continue because I have studied for over 20 years how to address various maladies and obstacles. Nothing gives me more solace than to walk with people as they find their inner guide and wise self. Connecting with others in an authentic, vulnerable manner is not something that can be found in common social circumstances. However, in my profession, there is nothing trite or false- it is 100% real and meaningful.
I have been working in the mental health field for over 18 years with families, individuals and couples. I have a passion for group work and use a very collaborative approach because I know that you are the expert on yourself. I specialize in recovery from alcohol and substance abuse as well as transitions into new motherhood and women empowerment. I help couples learn and implement healthy communication. I utilize various modalities from art, writing, inner child work, experiential practices and evidenced based techniques to address the obstacles that you want to focus on and be the version of you that brings you peace and satisfaction.
