Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist because I have always been deeply passionate about helping others navigate life's challenges and find healing in their unique journeys. Throughout my life, I’ve seen firsthand the transformative power of therapy and how it can empower individuals to overcome adversity, improve relationships, and cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness and well-being. The opportunity to provide this support to others is what motivates me every day.
What continues to drive me is the profound impact I can have on someone's life, whether it’s helping them manage mental health struggles, cope with trauma, or navigate the complexities of relationships. I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and healing, and my role is to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore, learn, and take meaningful steps toward their own wellness. The privilege of walking alongside my clients as they build a healthier, more fulfilling life keeps me inspired and committed to the work I do.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
For those hesitant to try therapy, I would want to tell them that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, but rather a courageous step toward understanding yourself better and improving your well-being. Therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and challenges without fear of criticism. It's an opportunity to gain insight into your experiences and learn new coping strategies to navigate life's ups and downs.
I understand that the idea of opening up to someone can feel intimidating, but therapy isn’t about having all the answers right away—it's about building a supportive relationship where you can feel heard and understood. The process can be empowering, helping you feel more in control and equipped to handle life’s challenges. You don't have to go through difficult times alone. Taking that first step toward therapy is often the beginning of positive change and growth. You deserve to feel supported and to live a life that reflects your true potential.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
If you’re considering working with me, know that I’m committed to providing a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and supported. I take a collaborative, client-centered approach, tailoring sessions to your unique needs and empowering you with tools to grow and heal. I’m patient, understanding, and focused on building trust, helping you navigate mental health struggles, trauma, and life transitions with guidance and support. My goal is to help you unlock your full potential and create positive change in your life.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Therapy sessions with me are a safe, supportive space where we work together at your pace. In the first session, we’ll build trust by discussing your background, challenges, and goals. From there, sessions are tailored to your needs using approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I focus on open communication, empowering you to explore your thoughts and emotions, find solutions, and make progress. My goal is to create a collaborative relationship where you feel understood and supported throughout your healing journey.
How do you work with clients with depression?
When working with clients who have depression, I focus on creating a supportive and empathetic environment where they feel safe to explore their emotions and challenges. I use a combination of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns that contribute to their depression. We also work together to set small, achievable goals that help build momentum and a sense of accomplishment. In addition, I incorporate mindfulness and behavioral activation strategies to encourage positive engagement in daily activities. My approach is individualized, aiming to empower clients to understand their depression, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and regain a sense of hope and purpose. My goal is to walk alongside clients as they work toward healing, providing the tools and support necessary to help them feel more in control of their mental well-being.
How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When working with clients who have anxiety, I use a compassionate and client-centered approach to help them understand and manage their symptoms. Together, we explore the root causes of their anxiety, identify triggers, and develop coping strategies tailored to their needs. I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients challenge negative thought patterns and replace them with more balanced perspectives. Additionally, relaxation techniques, mindfulness practices, and grounding exercises are introduced to help manage physical symptoms of anxiety. My goal is to empower clients to feel more in control and provide them with the tools to navigate anxiety in their everyday lives, while creating a safe space for them to express themselves and build confidence in their ability to cope.
How can you provide care remotely?
I provide remote care through secure video sessions, phone calls, and digital platforms that ensure confidentiality and convenience. This allows us to connect regardless of location, making therapy more accessible and flexible for your schedule. Whether you're at home or elsewhere, I create a safe, comfortable environment where we can work together on your mental health journey. Remote care offers the same personalized, compassionate approach as in-person sessions, ensuring you receive the support you need, wherever you are.
