Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

After going through an extremely rough and traumatic time in my early 20s, which really felt like rock bottom despair, it pushed me into a deep healing journey where I was able to transform myself and my life in ways that I never believed were possible. This took years and it was through therapy where I really started this important work with myself.  I am motivated every day knowing that I can help clients transform their own lives as well. I am forever honored and humbled that my clients entrust me with their stories and that I can hold space for them to navigate their own histories, traumas and personal challenges. Getting into the weeds of our lives can feel scary and overwhelming, but I have experienced firsthand how doing the work to understand ourselves more deeply can radically change our lives for the better. I feel truly lucky that I get to aid others on their own personal journeys.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

It is understandable and completely normal to be hesitant! Although I am a therapist myself, I have been to therapy multiple times in my life and can relate to that overwhelming feeling when you are first looking. Usually people initiate therapy for the first time as adults when things feel like they are at a boiling point. When we are already feeling very overwhelmed and probably not like our best selves, being vulnerable and searching for help can feel like a lot. I applaud you for researching and taking the steps to feeling better. With effort things can improve. I am here to go at your pace and answer any questions you may have. Before diving in, you can contact me for a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit and become familiar with me and my process.

How can you provide care remotely?

I have a Telehealth platform called SimplePractice, that stays true to its name, as it really is simple and easy to use. I can do video sessions as long as you have access to the internet! You receive a link via text or email and it will take you to the platform where the session is.
