About Marsinlen

Hello, Welcome to my page! I'm Marsinlen, I'm a counselor based out of Northeast PA. I work with adult clients who may have anxiety, depression, addiction, chronic illness. My clinical interests include traumatic brain injury, trauma focused counseling, disability advocacy. I utilize motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy when working with clients. One call or email is all it takes to get connected. I'm looking forward hearing your story and how I may of help.

What's your experience with clients with anxiety?

Anxiety is the brains way of saying "help!, something is wrong" I utilize a lot of grounding and meditation to help clients when they have anxiety/panic attacks, at times I also use exposure techniques if warranted.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?

I became a therapist after going through my own struggles with health concerns. Therapists helped me recognize my potential to help others.

What's your experience with clients with depression?

Depression has a genetic and environmental component. I work with clients to address their struggle by focusing on good communication and self care, some may also benefit from medication, however everyone is unique.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?

Therapy is a scary experience, confiding in a stranger, sitting or viewing them on a screen, answering questions. Therapy is also a huge step in moving forward often times our friends/family listen, but the problem still remains. Therapy gives you the tools to find a solution, I don't judge, we all have stories, I feel honored when someone opens up to me and shares their story.

What's your experience with clients with trauma or abuse?

I do have some clinical experience in this area, I would like to become a certified trauma specialist and am working on coursework to achieve this goal.

How do you work with clients with addiction?

I work with clients at their own pace, everyone is at a different place when it comes to addiction. I have three years experience working with adults utilizing motivational interviewing to help them make positive changes.
