About Michele
Welcome, I'm glad you're here. You're taking a big step for yourself.
My main ways of thinking that I lean towards are: compassion-focused, psychodynamic, attachment styles, and emotion-focused. I've been described by clients as patient, having a positive unconditional regard, and being able to challenge them to help them take steps toward growth.
This process isn't always easy. My goal is to create a place where you can feel seen, safe, challenged, and supported, so that we can create lasting change. My approach leans toward being more direct and inquisitive, but with compassion. For releasing emotions, beliefs and trauma from the body I use the somatic and neurological technique of Brainspotting.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
When starting therapy it takes a bit bravery to make that first step and reach out to people. A lot of us feel we should start therapy when we feel a little worse, so we actually have things to talk about in therapy. Other times some of us can feel we need to feel a little better so we have energy and motivation to make change or feel as though we aren't such a mess. What I want to do is meet you exactly where you are, so you can feel safe and supported, we can even figure out what goals are together. You don't need to meet a specific criterion to start therapy.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
What you can expect: I'll begin by taking the time to get to know you and understand what brought you to counseling. My desire is for you to feel seen and heard. We'll work on incorporating tools and methods, specific to you, to evoke meaningful and lasting change in your life. I view counseling to be a collaborative process, one that I'll help you navigate.
I'm also now trained in Brainspotting (up to Phase 2, working on becoming credentialed) which can be done in person or through telehealth. This is also only if requested by you and open to it, never forced. It helps with a lot of issues clients bring to sessions and some of the most common issues that people tend to seek it out for is help with trauma, faulty beliefs, anxiety, and stress.
