Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist because I have always been deeply passionate about helping others navigate life’s challenges and find healing. Seeing individuals overcome struggles, particularly with substance use and mental health, and achieve lasting recovery is incredibly rewarding. My motivation to continue comes from the belief that everyone deserves a chance to live a fulfilled, healthy life, and I am dedicated to supporting my clients on their journey toward resilience and well-being.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
If you're hesitant to try therapy, I understand that it can feel daunting. But therapy is a safe space where you’re not alone, and it’s okay to ask for help. It’s not about fixing you, but rather about empowering you to understand yourself better, build resilience, and create the life you want. Taking that first step is often the hardest, but it’s a brave choice that can lead to real, lasting change. You deserve the support, and it’s worth exploring what therapy can offer you.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
If you're considering working with me, know that I’m deeply committed to creating a safe, empathetic space where you feel valued and supported. I believe in a patient-centered approach, and I’m dedicated to helping you build the tools and resilience needed for lasting change. With over 20 years of experience, I combine a holistic approach, blending evidence-based practices like CBT and mindfulness with a compassionate, understanding demeanor. Together, we’ll work toward your goals in a collaborative, non-judgmental environment. Your journey to healing is unique, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Therapy sessions with me are a collaborative, supportive experience where your needs and goals guide the process. We’ll start by creating a safe space where you can feel heard and understood. I use a mix of approaches, like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, to help you explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll work on building coping strategies, improving mental well-being, and making lasting changes. Whether through individual sessions, group therapy, or family support, you’ll receive personalized care tailored to your unique journey.
How do you work with clients with trauma and PTSD?
When working with clients with trauma or PTSD, I create a safe, trusting space and use trauma-informed care to ensure sensitivity. Through techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, we work to reframe negative thought patterns and manage emotional triggers. My approach is gradual, compassionate, and focuses on building resilience, helping you regain control and work toward healing and a fulfilling life.
How do you work with clients with depression?
When working with clients experiencing depression, I focus on creating a safe, supportive space where we can explore the underlying thoughts and emotions contributing to your feelings. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify negative thinking patterns and help you reframe those thoughts in a healthier way. Additionally, we work on building coping strategies to manage symptoms and improve your daily functioning. I also incorporate mindfulness techniques to help you stay grounded and focused in the present moment. My goal is to empower you to regain a sense of control, find hope, and work toward a more positive and fulfilling life.
How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When working with clients dealing with anxiety, I take a compassionate, personalized approach. We start by exploring the root causes of your anxiety and how it affects your daily life. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we’ll work to identify negative thought patterns and replace them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. I also integrate mindfulness techniques to help you manage physical symptoms and create a sense of calm in moments of distress. My goal is to equip you with practical tools and coping strategies to regain control and reduce anxiety over time, while providing a supportive space for you to heal.
How can you provide care remotely?
I provide remote care through secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions that allow you to access therapy from the comfort of your own home. Whether you're dealing with mental health challenges, substance use issues, or need family support, I offer personalized counseling tailored to your unique needs. Remote therapy ensures flexibility and convenience while maintaining the same level of compassion and support you’d receive in person. You can expect a safe, confidential environment where we can work together to achieve your wellness goals, no matter where you are.
