About Veronica
I grew up in Dallas and always dreamed of becoming a counselor and creating a practice that helps individuals and couples with concerns and issues that have taken over their happiness. I grew up in a Mexican household where mental health was not believed to be something you sought help for. “You just have to get over it” was what I was told. When I went away to college, my outlook was expanded, and I sought counseling for myself.
At that point, I realized the benefits and ultimately, the results of being in therapy. Now as a counselor, I see my clients growing, healing, and overcoming obstacles they feared they would never overcome. It is the most rewarding feeling in the world and now my purpose is to continue this journey to help others.
*Treatment philosophy
I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment for my clients. My goal is to provide a healing space where trust and vulnerability can flourish. During the first session, I focus on understanding my clients by exploring their concerns, past traumas, recent life changes, and current coping strategies. Subsequent sessions are more flexible, centering on present challenges. Over time, I identify behavioral patterns that may contribute to anxiety and depression. With compassion, empathy, and a strengths-based approach, I aim to offer a safe and inclusive space where individuals from all backgrounds can heal, grow, and reach their full potential.
*Practice description
Love Roots Therapy focuses on the mental health needs of adults, adolescents, and couples. Our practice provides virtual and in person counseling sessions depending on the preference of our clients. Our team is dedicated to helping patients achieve and enhance their psychological and spiritual well-being by using a variety of psychological modalities. Our counselors strive to meet our clients “where they are”. We provide an accepting environment using tools to help reframe and understand unconscious beliefs that keep us from moving forward. Our counselors work collaboratively with individuals to identify their goals, aspirations, and desired outcomes. We support individuals in developing strategies, action plans, and coping mechanisms to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. The counseling process aims to empower individuals, fostering a sense of agency and control over their lives.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist because I experienced firsthand the transformative power of counseling and wanted to provide that same support to others. Growing up in a culture where mental health was often dismissed, I struggled with the belief that I had to face my challenges alone. However, seeking therapy in college changed my perspective and helped me heal in ways I never imagined. Now, as a therapist, I am motivated by the growth and resilience I witness in my clients every day. Seeing individuals reclaim their happiness, overcome obstacles, and embrace their full potential is the most rewarding feeling in the world. My purpose is to continue creating a safe, inclusive space where healing and self-discovery can flourish.
For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
If you’re hesitant to try therapy, I want you to know that seeking help is not a sign of weakness—it’s an act of strength. You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone, and therapy isn’t about fixing you because you are not broken. It’s a space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. Healing takes time, but every step you take toward understanding yourself is a step toward growth and empowerment. You deserve support, and therapy can be the beginning of a journey toward a happier, healthier you.
What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
If you're considering working with me, know that I am deeply committed to creating a safe, welcoming space where you can be your authentic self. I approach therapy with compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to help you heal and grow. My goal is to understand your unique experiences and support you in navigating life’s challenges. I believe in the power of collaboration and will work alongside you, using a combination of therapeutic techniques to empower you toward positive change. Above all, I am here to listen, support, and help you reach your fullest potential.
What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Therapy sessions with me are a collaborative and supportive experience, tailored to your unique needs. In our first session, I focus on understanding your concerns, past experiences, and current challenges in a warm and nonjudgmental space. As we continue, sessions become more flexible, centering on what’s most important to you in the moment. Together, we’ll explore patterns, coping strategies, and new perspectives to help you navigate life’s challenges. My approach is compassionate, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive, ensuring you feel heard, valued, and empowered throughout your healing journey.
How do you work with clients with eating disorders?
When working with clients with eating disorders, I take a holistic, empathetic approach that addresses both the psychological and physical aspects of the condition. I create a safe and supportive environment where clients can openly explore their relationship with food, body image, and underlying emotional struggles. I often integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and challenge harmful thought patterns around food and self-esteem. We work together to develop healthier coping mechanisms, improve body image, and foster a more balanced relationship with food. My goal is to support clients in their recovery by empowering them to embrace self-compassion, break free from disordered behaviors, and build a foundation for lasting healing.
How do you work with clients with depression?
When working with clients experiencing depression, I focus on creating a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where they can explore their feelings and experiences at their own pace. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to their depression, while also working to develop healthier coping strategies. We’ll also explore lifestyle factors such as sleep, nutrition, and exercise, as they can significantly impact mood. My approach is individualized, and I work collaboratively with clients to create a plan that empowers them to manage their depression and improve their overall well-being.
How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When working with clients with anxiety, I take a holistic and personalized approach to help them better understand their triggers and develop effective coping strategies. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns that contribute to their anxiety. I also incorporate mindfulness and relaxation techniques to help manage physical symptoms of anxiety in the moment. Together, we explore the root causes of anxiety and develop practical, actionable tools that empower clients to feel more in control of their emotions. My goal is to help clients build confidence in managing anxiety while fostering long-term resilience.
How can you provide care remotely?
I provide care remotely through secure, virtual therapy sessions that are designed to be just as impactful as in-person visits. Using video conferencing platforms, I create a safe, confidential environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings from the comfort of your own space. Remote therapy offers flexibility, making it easier to access support when and where it’s needed most. Whether you’re at home or on the go, I am committed to providing the same high level of care, attention, and support as I would in person, ensuring that you feel heard, understood, and empowered every step of the way.
