Hello! I'm David J. Greene, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), based in Edison, NJ. I've dedicated my career to helping children, families, and individuals overcome various challenges. My journey has taken me through several enriching roles. At Recovery Centers of America, I work closely with clients to help them set and achieve their treatment goals. My role involves individual therapy sessions, group sessions, and working with families to support their loved ones' recovery. Previously, at Family First Counseling Services, I provided intensive in-home counseling, helping families navigate crises and teaching valuable skills for emotional regulation and trauma recovery. During my tenure at Lawn Ridge Youth Consulting Services, I supported young adults dealing with everything from autism to schizophrenia and other mental health issues. My experience is comprehensive, including roles as a substance abuse counselor and various internships where I honed my skills in psychoeducation and therapy. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Touro College and a Master’s in Education and Human Development from George Washington University. My background in education has also given me unique insights into the developmental needs of children and adolescents. I’m passionate about helping others realize their potential and leading healthier, happier lives. Compassionate, motivated, and experienced, I'm here to support you on your journey to well-being. Feel free to reach out—I look forward to working with you! From social media to global crises, there are a great deal of forces influencing how we see ourselves. It is normal amidst all of this change to feel anxious, depressed, hopeless, and overwhelmed. Therapy can help these parts of you feel seen and heard free of judgement or shame. Together, I hope to help you foster coping skills, boost self-confidence, set and meet goals, and improve the relationship you have with yourself and others. You are not alone in what you are facing. I will work with you to compassionately tend to the parts of you that feel like they are suffering in order to help you create a path forward.  My passion is helping individuals reconnect to themselves and the world around them. To take care of our minds is to take care of our physical and spiritual health.  I have a special interest in serious illness, life transitions, palliative care, caregivers, women’s health, infertility, grief, and how nature and the outdoors can promote mental well-being. I love hiking, running, kayaking, and being with animals. Attention to the outdoors, physical movement, and the mind-body connection informs my clinical work with clients when appropriate. I graduated from The Silver School of Social Work at New York University as a Zelda Foster Palliative and End of Life Care fellow. I previously worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where I helped patients, caregivers, and healthcare staff navigate the complexities of serious illness and palliative care.
