How do you work with clients with trauma and PTSD?
I support clients with trauma and PTSD by creating a safe, compassionate space to process their experiences. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and ACT to help reduce symptoms, teach grounding and coping skills, and work toward healing and reclaiming a sense of control.
My path to becoming a therapist is deeply personal. Over the years, I have experienced grief, loss, divorce, trauma, abuse, and major life transitions in my own journey. These experiences not only shaped my understanding of suffering but also deepened my heart for walking with others who find themselves in painful or uncertain seasons. I know firsthand how overwhelming life can feel, and I also see the hope and restoration that can come through faith, healing, and connection. In addition to my personal journey, I have spent many years as a social worker in the hospice field, supporting individuals and families through end-of-life care, loss, and the grieving process. These experiences deepened my calling to create a safe and compassionate space for people in their most vulnerable moments. They also strengthened my belief that healing is possible even in seasons of sorrow, especially when we lean on faith and community. Today, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I specialize in supporting individuals through grief, loss, trauma, relationship struggles, and life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and faith-centered—grounded in the belief that every person is created in God’s image and deeply loved by Him. At Connect & Restore Therapy, I blend evidence-based practices with Christian values, offering a safe space where you can process your story, rediscover your strength, and move forward with clarity and peace. It is my privilege to walk alongside you, not only as a therapist but also as someone who has walked through valleys and experienced God’s grace and renewal firsthand. Together, we can lean into hope and pursue the healing and restoration God desires for your life. As Scripture reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).

How do you work with clients with trauma and PTSD?
I work with trauma and PTSD in a thoughtful, paced, and highly individualized way. My approach begins with creating a sense of safety, trust, and emotional stability, especially for clients who may have spent years functioning well on the outside while carrying significant pain internally. Together, we explore how trauma may be affecting your nervous system, relationships, sense of self, emotional regulation, and ability to feel present in your life. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and other trauma-informed methods to help clients process painful experiences without becoming overwhelmed by them. The goal is not simply to revisit the past, but to reduce its emotional charge, restore a sense of control, and help you move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and inner calm.
With over 32 years of clinical experience, Amita Ghosh provides highly personalized psychotherapy for discerning individuals seeking exceptional care, depth, and discretion. She specializes in working with high-functioning professionals, executives, creatives, and individuals navigating complex professional, personal and relational challenges who value privacy, emotional intelligence, and sophisticated psychological insight. Amita is trained in EMDR, Gottman Therapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, integrating evidence-based approaches to support meaningful and lasting change. Her work focuses on helping clients move through trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, burnout, and life transitions with greater clarity, resilience, and emotional balance. In addition to her clinical work, Amita leads transformational retreats for women, creating spaces for deeper reflection, renewal, and personal growth within an atmosphere of professionalism, warmth, and complete confidentiality.

How do you work with clients with trauma and PTSD?
When working with clients who have experienced trauma or PTSD, I take a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment. I understand that trauma can affect emotions, thoughts, relationships, and physical well-being, and I tailor treatment to each individual's unique experiences and needs. Together, we work to understand trauma responses, develop healthy coping skills, manage symptoms such as anxiety, hypervigilance, nightmares, or emotional distress, and build resilience over time. My goal is to help clients regain a sense of control, improve daily functioning, and move toward healing at a pace that feels safe and comfortable. When appropriate, treatment may include medication management, supportive therapy, and coordination with specialized trauma-focused therapeutic services.
